Having graduated in Mathematics, Finance and Management from King's College London, Sajjad began his career in the insurance sector. Over the years that followed, he built and scaled the business, leading it through a period of sustained growth before its sale to a private equity backed broker at a top industry multiple.
His background is in building and leading commercial teams, developing people, and creating the distribution and operational infrastructure that enables a business to grow beyond its founder.
Before establishing his own financial services brokerage, Waqar spent much of his career in sales and marketing, including senior management and director roles within major FTSE listed financial services companies. His experience included launching and developing new divisions, building sales teams and establishing them in new markets.
He went on to build and lead his own financial services brokerage for more than twenty years. In 2025, Waqar completed the sale of the business to its management team, several of whom had been with the company for more than fifteen years, enabling the team that had helped build it to take the business forward.
