What we do

Investment and acquisition

We invest in and acquire established businesses, from a minority investment through to full acquisition. In every case, we want the people running the business to hold a meaningful interest in its future, whether that is the existing team or a leader we bring in.

We would look to partner with owners who want to sell and exit completely, sell a majority stake while remaining involved, or release some of the equity they have built while continuing to run the business. Equally, we work with owners who need capital for the next stage of growth, who want an active investor rather than purely financial capital, or who are looking for a long term succession solution.

Backing entrepreneurs and operators

We also invest in people rather than only in businesses that already exist.

We back experienced individuals who want to acquire and run an established business. They may know a sector thoroughly and understand exactly how to operate within it, while lacking the capital, the deal experience or the support to become an owner. We provide those, and we are willing to work with someone before a target has been identified.

Strategic advisory

We selectively take non-executive and board level roles with established businesses, where we believe our experience can genuinely contribute.

Our focus is on building a stronger and more valuable business. In practice that means three things.

We review the foundations of your business, including its infrastructure, systems, processes and operations. We then identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability and long term performance.
We assess your organisational structure, leadership, key roles, recruitment, training and employee incentives. We then identify what is needed to build a team capable of supporting the next stage of the business.
We analyse historical performance and the commercial drivers of the business to develop a strategic growth plan. This may include business development, pricing, retention, new markets, strategic partnerships and growth through acquisition.
